So I'd take advantage of this and head down to your nearest Circuit City to see if you can get some deals. Luckily the Circuit City closest to me is only 10 minutes away by car.
In retrospect this is pretty sad for all of the employees loosing their jobs, thankfully CC had the decency to wait until after the holidays!
Last time I heard from people who bought stuff at liquidation sales they were complaining about how they ended up paying more than they would have otherwise by just buying online. So my advice is to not buy anything too quickly. Bring an iPhone or something so you can price check
Yeah.... unfortunately, too many people race out and get the 'deals' now. What the liquidators do is, mark everything to FULL retail, then do their % off. So, when they initially do 10% OFF, you basically pay regular price, but think you're getting a deal (anyone see Don't Mess with the Zohan?)
But, since people will race in there now, you won't find anything in the store later when the real deals hit

I'm a pretty savvy deal-hunter, so I'm not thick enough to fall for that scam. However, it will still be worth it to keep an eye on this Circuit City liquidation. I was around for the first liquidation they ran. It started off at 10%, just like you described, and the deals were crap. But by the time the liquidation was nearer to ending, they were pitching stuff out to the tune of 60% - 80% off. And that was worth taking a look at. I got a couple of games, DVDs, and a Wireless PS3 guitar controller at a very low price.
If you have a still-open Circuit City in your area, keep an eye for their current % off as you drive by. While its around 10% - 30%, don't bother. But once it starts dipping below 40%, its probably worth a visit. Also, the heavier items at the store are usually some of the last to go. So if you are thinking of getting a TV stand for your big screen, wait until it drops to around 60% off. They should still have some available.

That's when you get great deals on merchandise racks and shopping carts!
