I am texturing a green polycount smiley face thingey on a sculpt...

was wondering what the origin of said green face might be?

Is there a thread that can hip me to it's meaning/origin/history if any such thing exists?

my search results result in nil.

I believe the last itteration of smileys in the old forums were all green, and the main smiley looked just like that,


the teeth are just plain awesomess though.

First time I remember greentooth as he currently is - is that he was voted the official polycount logo in the first Dominance War.

Actually, Hawken created him for the first Dominace War, it was manditory for polycount entries (home rules) if I remember correctly. It just stuck since then, not sure who named it greentooth.

No, I don't have the original, it looked a lot like Adam's avatar. That's not Gauss's, I don't have his. His was in a field with a big red orange tongue or something coming out of his mouth, it was a play off zardoz.

everyone's pretty much got it. hawken created the original super-iconic design


and i helped popularize it by calling it greentooth and doing the banner painting.
