Dell does that occasionally... They accidentally put some like $1000 monitors for $200 or so last year or a couple years ago, and my friends bought a few. Dell actually honored the price even though it was a mistake.
I could be imagining all of that though but I'm pretty sure it happened.
in the UK if something is priced wrong they have to honour it by law. Why else do you think I carry around my own price tagger?
That's a bit of a misconception, In the UK if something is incorrectly priced the seller is within their rights to withdraw the item from sale at any point before money changes hands.
Recently my wife showed me Target was selling a $350 infant carseat for $40. I instantly bought it, only to receive an email saying the price was incorrect and I would have to buy it for the regular retail price. Apparently a bunch of people complained, because a week later I got a free $25 gift card for my 'inconvenience'. Pretty sweet

however, they have to withdraw that entire product line from sale, for a period of no less than 24 hours.
so it makes more commercial sense to take the hit on one sale, then reprice the item, than to remove it from sale and not sell any for a whole day.
I bought Fallout 3 when Game had incorrectly priced the collectors edition £5 cheaper than the standard edition. They honoured that price, for some reason. Bargain!
I picked up a bunch of games (Halo 3, and a few others that launched at that time) for like 1/2 off from Target. I called Target and they said they are trying to fix it and they would let me get the games for that price. I also got in on that Dell mistake for the 20" FPW monitors for $100, picked up 3 and put them all on eBay since I have a 24". But Dell usually doesn't let the deal go through if it's too many. I thought I would get a Quad core for $70, but they reversed the charges. They did however let me get $5 4GB microSD cards.
Amazon had 40" plasma for $5 a couple years ago, and I bought 70 of them to have them shipped to my job (eBay man!)... they emailed the next morning and said they can't honor it.
dang if only i had spotted this earlier. i wonder if dell's going to honor it tho, the pricing clearly is a gross mistake.
that card is the high-end one with the SDI-video-out as used in the flame/smoke effects systems, the inflated street price probably just reflects the small production runs they have for this sort of thing and the deep-pocket clients they usually sell it to.

That doesn't look like its from future, so why is it costing so much? :P
oh, that and the fact that the price was 4.90!!! when added to the cart. HOLY SAVINGS.
