but i kinda wanna know how the professionals learned to make theyre first models.
ibecause i really ned something to start off..
Also you need to be making mistakes on your own, the worst thing you can do is be too afraid to screw things up and never take chances to see if something will work. Save often (turn on incremental saves in the save options so that you can go back a couple saves if need be) and experiment. Breaking stuff and learning to fix it teaches you a ton.
As for 'how the professionals learned to make their first models', most just learned by trial and error sense the wealth of info that's on the net today wasn't always around. However you might want to check out the 'Joan of Arc' tutorial, as its probably one of the most famous tutorials for beginning modelers out their.
BuCC - slightly redicilous.
thank you!
Crazy to find this thread on a whim. Anyways, my tutorials for Maya are aimed at beginners of 3D as well as Maya. There are some exceptions to that in the Xnormal videos and Zbrush stuff but as stated I think it would be best to get your information from MANY different sources. If all the information aligns you have a pretty good chance it's right. What I teach is mainly theory and just showing you the tools.
What may be useful to some may not be useful to others. I wouldn't expect that my tutorials would be all that useful to a seasoned professional. Having said that, I've been working in video games for 2 years and feature film and commercials for 1.
Any questions just ask away here or on my YouTube channel. Be sure to mention you're from Polycount so I have a frame of reference. Thanks!
