Hi everyone!
I realize Polycount is mostly an artist hangout, but I thought there might be a few programmers who check out these pages, or some of you may know someone who's interested and can pass the message along.
We're looking to hire a programmer to move our game Brutal from a Video Concept into a playable demo. (If you happen to live in or near Vancouver, BC, Canada its a very big bonus) The work required shouldn't be too difficult for someone familiar with the Source engine and we're offering $5,000 CAD ($4,200 USD) to get everything working. The tasks would be as follows:
3rd Person Camera - A basic 3rd person camera ala Tomb Raider with working world collisions.
Object Manipulation - The ability for characters to pick up, hold and throw physics based objects and ragdolls (basically add an attachment to the hands and remove the gravity gun model)
Animation Code - Any code required to get our custom character animations and skeletons working in game.
Ledge Climb - Creation of a func_ledge entity that allows players to grab the ledge automatically and climb up. Ala Rune, Tomb Raider etc.
Character Abilities Code - Each of the 3 characters has their own special abilities such as Wall Running (ala Prince of Persia), Wall Jumping (ala Ninja Gaiden) and Charge Attacks.
Control Code - Addition of a "Modifier" key to enable streamlined control of characters (Outlined in the design doc)
Weapon Code - Any code required for character specific weapons (mostly melee)
HUD Code - Addition of 4 "Health Bar" systems to monitor Health, Armour, Weapon Strength and Rage.
Rage Code - Code required to have the Rage Meter fill when attacked and drained when using special abilities.
