does somebody know where i can get a small trackball unit to solder into my xbox 360 controller to have it instead of the right stick?
i hate moving the view with a stick
i only fount keyboards for about 40 bucks with right sized trackballs or huge trackballs that would never fit

That is what I would think...
when you open it, its just a half sherewith a stick in it
it would need much effort to use the stick to create a trackball
i also thought of disassembling an old mouse with a sphere in it and put the parts into the controller, but i dont know if this works that well
found this:

a bit smaller and it would fit
I can't see the trackball thing really working though. They work differently than joysticks. A joystick has a central point that it always returns to, and it moves relative to that. A trackball doesn't. I'd imagine that would cause lots of problems with games programmed to use the stick.
i have another idea:
an aanalog stick works with 2 radial sliding resistors
the cool thing is, that these resistors are not fixed to one rotation like the stick itself, so i only have to move them to work like normal mouse axis rollers, put a ball in, that fits and everyone is happy, but this solution is brute force and not cool
edit: i dont understand why there are so vew trackballs out there, they work really good for browsers and computergames
pretty useless... im buying a wireless keyboard with trackball anmd use it as joypad
