Very interesting read indeed!
Still I wonder why such interviews never encompass the (sometimes huge) shortcomings of the programs. I can understand that Pixologic don't exactly want to hear/spread that but that would serve them well in regards of future improvements still required to make ZB a smooth app - and I don't imagine the Epic guys censoring themselves for the sake of an interview either? Things like 'tools are very fluid' does not ring Zbrush to me...
But yeah very good read nonetheless, still have to go through all of it.
Essentially, what you're reading is an advertisement for a product. A few exceptions a side, an advertisement will never mention the shortcomings of the product.

Well to that I will respond with one of my favorite quotes, from Kees Rijnen when he was working on Jade:
"Once you are using 3ds max it's basically an addiction you can't stop-you just become so powerful,"
It doesn't matter how much someone hates these programs or what gripes they have- when push comes to shove, they will rarely speak up about it, with good reasons. First, your company doesn't want you to speak up about it- Autodesk is a partner for every 3D studio now, and your company doesn't want to alienate them because some piss ant said something bad. Second, people believe they may get something out of it (like their bugs prioritized, or their features listened to- it is a type of ingratiation I suppose). And third, when it comes time for someone to actually do something about some issue, they 99% of the time shy away- I do it too, we all do it. We talk a big games. Oh, and there is editing and instruction by Pixologic, of course.
Good article for what it is (the pretty art, and tips), but I keep one eye towards these things as press releases in disguise...

Yeah, I see them as a good opportunity to fill up the Inspiration folder with more cool images. I did skim through the text and picked up a few comments about workflow and such, but I never really read the text.
Yes, I was intensely annoyed that I couldn't use any of my nifty image downloader scripts or extensions
Also what the hell is up with the popup window title, it says "StraightPerm.com :: Hairpieces", did they steal that image viewer script off another site or something?
LOL, I didn't notice that one.. Yeah, they are using it at StraightPerm.com. Weird thing to do when there's so many scripts like these that are much better, and posted intended for public use.

I just think it's a pity!
