Hi.
I need to start doing 3d modeling because in Vancouver Film School I need a strong portfolio to get into the 3D Animation & Visual Effects Program. If i don't have a strng portfolio, I would need to go to the Foundation Program(Basically its a prep program) and it cost $19,000. On top of that, the actualy prgoram cost $32,000.
So i wish to create the best portfolio that i can before the application date.
What I basically need is something to start me off and an introduction to every content of MAYA. Once i know all the basic stuff
I need a real beginner's guide/tutorial for:
Basic modeling
Lighting and How to Render
Animation
Texturing
and i also see alot of acronyms and words that are sooo unfamiliar to me realted to MAYA
(and others that you guys might think will be useful)(and it would be really helpful if theres any step by step tutorials outhere that someone can give me)
THANK YOU!
PS: I hope Im in the right section of the forum

good luck
Sad...very sad.
But who am I to judge you and your choices.
So good luck.
I think this would be easier than trying to learn everything at once, since you will be able to troubleshoot a specific problem instead of the general idea of some large topic.
I hope it helps, and GL
