My TV died.

My TV finally died last night while watching Fringe. It was about 21 1/2 years old (I checked the mfg date). Through video, DVD, all the main consoles and plain ole television it was a true workhorse. Never had a problem with it. I always treated it right with quality stuff (at least we never watched Oprah ...shudder), and it did go out on a good show. Sigh.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I offer my condolences.

There is nothing to be said to heal the pain of the loss of a loved one. I hope it's gone off to a better place.

My friend has an LCD TV, its really really beautiful responsive too and its a skinny little thing that doesn't eat much power. I could ask him if his has any siblings if you want?

You need yourself a nice, new model.

Remember, always trade up every 4 years or so. Don't be afraid to kick them to the curb or hand them off to yoru friends in need.

my trusty widescreen CRT is on its way out ... it's gonna be gutting when the tube finally goes, i know full well i can't replace its picture quality for normal TV. The HD revolution hasn't hit here yet

plus, a thin telly is going to look stupid in the corner

How I long for the days when TVs were coated with fake wood panelling, had bunny ears, and channels had to be changed by standing up, walking over to the television, and changing the channel with a dial.

Now all I have are the memories, and that glowing yellow stain silhouette of my head stained on the wall behind my couch.
