Advice for a student

Hi there everyone, I'm new to this site, and my teacher told us this is a great place to get advice. So, this is a project I'm working on, and I wanted to get some advice, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you! :)

I'm sorry, I forgot to post my wife frame, and talk about the item. It's a prop for a class, and the weapon is from Talim from Soul Calibur. I struggled with the thickness, because in all the references it seemed thick. I wanted some advice on the texture, and the model itself. How can it look more like metal, and anything else that will make this better.

Hey man! I moved this thread from General Discussion (off-topic, non-3D advice) to Pimping & Previews (where you can showcase your work, ask for help, give help, etc. etc.).

As for suggestions, it would be good to know the context of this sword: Is it for a character? Is it in this style for a purpose? Etc.

As well, generally wire frame shots will help get some proper critiques.

yeah, it will also help if you state what exactly would you like advice on. the piece as a whole? the modeling? the texturing? etc.

as adam said, wireframe shots are a great place to start. from the viewport is fine.

well. it looks like a weapon.. but it doesn't look sharp cause it got this rounded edge. aside from the pointed tips it'd be more likely to do bludgeoning damage :)

Only the top picture is showing up for me, so I can hardly tell what the model actually looks like from that wierd angle.

Like adamBrome said, I don't know what kind of critique you are looking for. What's the purpose of this project?
