Max not responding to keyboard?

For some reason, Max 9 (32bit) has stopped responding to all keyboard shortcuts. It doesn't matter if its a macroscript, CTRL-S for save, F4, whatever. The only keyboard input that is responding is mouse modifiers (like Alt+middleclick, etc)

I've restarted Max and my machine multiple times, to no success. I'm really hoping I don't have to reinstall.

You tried the keyboard shortcut override button I assume?

Yeah, it does nothing

Delete your Ini file.

If that doesn't work, try reverting to default UI. If that doesn't work, try removing your UI stuff (not sure if that will crash max?). You could also try pasting over someone else's.

I ran into that a problem a couple weeks ago too
The solution was to go to into customize user interface, and under the keyboard tab, next to Group: --> Main UI, check the "Active" button.

That's my question for a lot of things in Max. Like the X shortcut. Or the lock button
