"Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain"
a very good book written by Dr. Betty Edwards. Think of it as a mental toolkit that will allow you to study life, as well as others work.

Classic cartoons from the Golden Age have many of the same fundamentals as professional illustration. Just don't get hung up here too long.

What I am having trouble with is the crotch. I have made many attempts in my live only to find myself chucking the file into the recycle bin. Help.
What I cant seem to get in my head is how to best get the legs on the torso mesh. Both started as 8 sided cylinders which I think served nicely, but every time I come to the crotch I find a strange contortion of verts or get one homeless without anything to connect to. Does anyone have a good guide? I cant seem to find any on the internet.
