Been using vista for over a year and I just discovered this handy little tool.

Its kind a like a advanced printscreen and combines crop, paint and save all into 1 neat UI, so no more opening up photoshop/paint when you just wanna save a screenshot.

You can read more about it here; http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial135.html

I dont know if this is "new" to any of you as well but I thought I might as well tell you just in case :p

On a sidenote I found a equivalent for non-vista users; http://www.codeplex.com/cropper
Havent tried it myself because it doesnt work on vista 64 without doing some complicated stuff which I am too lazy to do :(

Dang you need the Tablet PC Components enabled, and that shit slows down max/zbrush/photoshop! :(

I've never checked to see if it works in vista, but one of my favs for screenshots is hoversnap. It allows you to screenshot everything, just the focused window, or select a section of the screen. It's done through modifier keys with the print screen... and it doesn't require installation (it's a stand alone exe). The down side to the screen selection is it's limited to boxes (can't do odd hand drawn shapes like the one you posted).

Just an alternative... not saying anything is bad about the link you provided ;)
