Nice trailer. This will be great since Butcher Bay isn't 360 compatible. You get a good game, improved, with lots of additional content. Congrats to Starbreeze for getting this out despite the difficulties.
Definitely looking forward to this one. Started playing through EFBB again a couple weeks back, and it's still completely awesome. Also has one of the best examples of a tutorial/intro level ever. ^^
And yes, the menus were(are!) definitely super cool.
Jackablade: that's not what I'd heard, and reading up on it now, you seem to be wrong:
"The science fiction first-person action game, is anticipated to be largely a remake of The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay." -wikipedia
"the decision to do a remake was because Microsoft could not make the Xbox 360 backward compatible with Escape from Butcher Bay, and because they wanted to get the Escape story to a larger audience before progressing further." -wiki
"Dark Athena is expected to have improved graphics and AI from Escape along with the addition of a multiplayer mode. The single player mode will also be expanded to include Riddick escaping onto a mercenary ship called Dark Athena." -wiki
In addition to that, I did read that the additional campaign had grown so much, it could now be considered a full game, so I really don't know. I just wouldn't expect too much from said campaign in terms of length.
"While we've known for a while that Starbreeze's The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena would be an enhanced remake of the previous Riddick game with new content, it turns out that the new content amounts to a 10-hour single-player sequel.
The new campaign packs "new game mechanics, full-game production values ... the works," according to Joystiq, with Big Download clarifying that the campaign is a "direct sequel" to the original and is immediately accessible upon booting the game.
The scope of the new campaign stems from the first-person shooter's recent publisher-related delay. After the game was dropped by ex-publisher Sierra, Atari picked the game up, a move that allowed for more than nine months of additional work.
Along with the new campaign, Athena will include a new multiplayer mode and an enhanced version of Starbreeze's 2004 release The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay (PC, Xbox). Expect Dark Athena to hit PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in spring 2009."
The main menu on the original still sticks out in my mind as one of the coolest around.
QFT!
Looking forward to this...
You know, there's something very unfun about watching a movie about a protagonist who is invulnerable and so badass he's unstoppable...but playing a game as that same dude is an entirely different story!

Now where's Enclave 2?
But isn't this #2, and escape from butcher bay being the additional content?
Gotta say when I look at the older game... graphics still hold up, so this is looking quite good

Looks like semantics really - is it a remake with a bonus campaign or a new game with a reworked original version added on? Either way, it's more Riddick and that can only be a good thing.
