Hmmm, not really sure why the hell the afro will work with the way you have it right now? an afro is totaly spherical, dont think you can mimic that with a bunch of planes? cant you just extrude? but im sure you have your reasons
i tried making it work, then decided that it'd be easier to just model it out. (i wanted to do it the "varga hair tutorial" way, wanted to try if that would work with these limits. it didn't).
update: this is all just a color blockin. i decided to choose number 11, since 8 is so unoriginal :P. (due to symmetry).
His arm bends in a very odd place. Move the elbow up a lot!
If you're not sure I'm right, try to just looking at it with a black material applied (or set it to scene lighting without any lights, whatever).
it's funky, but not in the way you were going for.
GOGOGOGO!
So your only going to be showing that corner of the court? If so, zoom out so we can see the whole mesh at this point
Do you have everyting measured up? i think you have some scaling fuckups
EDIT:
Yeah japhir, you shold take it up like pea said. Also, reduce the thickness of the calves and the neck.Players like the one you have here used to be thin and tall
Which part in particular is bothering you scale wise? The one part I purposely fudged was the court lines.
I was trying to fit as much of them as possible so I pushed them towards the door more than they actually would be, just so you could tell its was a basketball court easier. But if its standing out too much, yea Ill put them in the proper place.
Not a huge update, still working on the metal framing of the bleachers =/ trying to make them more convincing.
Edit: hey you posted right before me, nice progress!
Yea the rules didn't specify about making it "playable" from what I saw, so I just wanted to focus on this one area. I think modeling the whole gym would've been redundant and a little boring to look at.
Whatz?!? No way dude. Your pretty much done with everything! You only have to texture the chairs, the ball, the ball container, the door and the two flags on the wall. Each of these is going to take like 10-20 minutes each. And then a further 20 mins to dirtify. i have to rig my character, texture it some and pose! You should be able to do it dude. Its a weekend, not like anyone is going to bother you
YOU CAN DO IT!
Ya actually I was looking forward to see this textured SkepticalNate, from the looks of your site you got great lower poly texturing skills. I was hoping for more!
hey thanks guys .
nah, couldn't finish because nate said he couldn't finish himself. i just kept on moving at the same pace though.
thx corv, yeah the pants where pretty weird. (also very wip).
here's an update, i hope you like it . i don't know about the blood ...
edit: oh, and if a mod could move this to P&P we could finish it there?

Just kiddin' man, good luck guys!
here's a quick sketch for one of the survivors. might give away the story a bit already .
mmm 70's b-baller stuck in a b-ball court?
Looking forward to the mesh
Should have some updates from me by tommorow, this was just a busy weekend.
Looks good Japhir! Now he just needs some high socks, wrist bands and maybe a fro pick.
not to forget are the all-stars chuckies
lookin' forward to this
wippy wippy.
crits welcome! i wonder if the afro head will work this way .
EDIT: the tris count is wrong, there are some hidden reference planes in there. it's still above 800 though.
crits welcomed!
Nate:
ooo i love the damaged main door XD

edit: tri count shown isnt accurate, its about half that.

I threw the scale guy in there to help.

...need... ex... tension :O .
here's a new zombie wip. the shirt and jeans are very flat, gonna add folds/wrinkles in later.
some edit>image>adjustments and some painting later he looks a bunch better already .
I love that cancerous out-growth
The model looks like spandex but the texture reads as some really thin fabric that is blowing in the wind.
I'd suggest you to re-make the model so the legs are more cylinder-shaped.
For the texture you should take a look at this picture
As you can see, there's only wrinkles and folds around the crotch, knees and ankles.
I would like to see this finnished. Even if the time for the competition is over.
