For the current LPC I am using an FX shader that allows me to vertex texture blend. However, when it renders, it renders it as a flat colour. My understanding is that FX shaders won't render. So what I am wondering, is..
1.) How can I render vertex texture blending inside of 3DS max ? (2008)
2.) Can you actually get Max to render FX shaders? Is there a setting somewhere?

You could use a Mix map or a Mask map type using Vertex Color map as a mask/blend amount... should work.
i did most of my portfolio that way since it proved to be very timeconsuming to try and replicate shader-results with an offline renderer when all the maps were finetuned to work with the shader in the first place.
max's confusing mateditor didn't help either.
