Alright, so basically for a race track I'm creating the track is made up of welded pieces of metal. Now, texturing that works fine for straight part sections, becuase of course you can do a relatively small piece and then just duplicate it without issues.
However i have this large radial section that i need to have similar textures on, but I know I have to use some sort of tiling method on it.
I'm currently using
3ds Max 9, any ideas on how to get the style
of the straight part onto the
radial curve? Obviously the most important section to have tiling well is the road surface.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Polyboost can select loops/rings in the UVW window but I`m pretty sure there are free scripts for that task as well.

I second the build, then bend method.
I had to model/uv the great wall in Titan Quest and come up with some crazy bending pieces.
Building them straight, UVin THEN bending them saved on textures and made it a breeze to work with.
