love the lighting and the texture work. but just one thought maybe you could add some lights inside the house so we can see that someone lives in there so the viewer could have more information about what is going on .
also the lighting i think its coming from behind the trees as well maybe have your lighting show that because right now the area behind the barrels is a little dark.
Some great composition, pretty good textures I like the added plant life and the decay'ed look. I also really like the way you did the area outside the cabin, creepy and almost mystical, awesome touches.
I think the lighting could use some tweaks. Its a night scene so you should probably toss in some blue, and turn up the contrast a bit. Using more cool colors and less earthy day time tones like brown white and yellow will push the night time look pretty far. you can also use darkness to close it in a bit.
What Vig did. I really didn't know it was supposed to be a night scene until I read what he said and re-read the thread title. If you take Vig's advice it will be extra kick ass.
Vig takes a good direction, and the shot you currently have would look so much better through a broken window, makes it look more immersive.
The problem I'm nit picky about is that the snow doesn't seem to really blend much into the scene though the plants seem to have a bit on them. You could add some more hints of frost and ice in the scene, it helps with Vig's color scheme if you go with it.

Also, get rid of the white around your alpha'd weeds
