Hey guys,
Just wanted to ask what is the best program to convert regular avi video to mp4 so i can transfer them to PSP. I tried this program last nigt called Psp Video 9, but i dont enjoy it that much.
i use Jodix Free ipod video converter, it basically converts it to ipod format, but you can also change the resolution, its very straightforward and fast !
Strange.. I'm sure the link was easier to find last time I checked.

Looks like the download can't be linked to from outside, so you'll have to start at the bottom of the overview page and click your way through another page ("download and use") to get there.
it's got good resolutions and the file sizes are compacted right down, plus you can customize if your not to concerned about a stray pixel, or bubble in the audio, you can make the file smaller.
i use 3GP converter to convert to PSP. frontend to a number of freeware tools i believe. i tweaked one of the profiles to better match PSP AVC. http://www.videohelp.com/tools/3GP_Converter
no installation, registry-trash and no nasty dependencies either.
Would be nice to see who uses what for converting quicktime or avi files to the iphone or itouch? I want to get some tutorial vids and some movies of my work to carry along with me, and convert some movies as well. Thanks for the heads up, and Peppi, I cannot believe the hassle you have to go through to get that program your talking about.

its not free but I've been using it for a while. Rips all movie dvds onto psp format in under 30 mins and the quality is excellent.
