Hello PolyCounters
Just finished a short term contract project. Looking for comments and critques. Specs are 15173 tris
Also more importantly can someone give me advice on my portfolio website on what project I should work on next to get my foot in the game industry. I've been through a few art test and job interviews but no bites so far. Its really tough out there. Been 5 months since i graduated from an art school.
Here is my website. Let me know what do you think i should focus on and what should be my next project? A more artsy concept vehicles? A Unreal tournmanet 3 environment? Or an attempt at characters to be more of a generalist?

Thanks

Ya I am applying all over the united states and willing to relocate. Out of the united states I haven't tried yet. I mostly hit up gamasutra, craigslist, and polycount for job postings. Is there any other popular job websites you recommend?
I guess in the mean time I'll have to attempt to make my stuff look like gears of war 2 if thats the bar . I'll start fiddling around more with the ut3 engine.

Also, looks like alot of your website pages are untitled.
Your stuff is good, there's no doubt about it, just that right now patience is one of the things to deal with.
It does not hurt to take on more technical side of game development btw, play with some scripting.
And great model! The only crit I have is the texture on the tube missiles things. It blends in with the overall texture of the truck. Granted it is camo, and its purpose is to blend in. Perhaps this is what your reference looks like, but i think it might stand out more, and look a lil more unique if you varied the texture up.
Cool well sorta makes me feel a little bit better im not all alone. Ya i've seen you post your work on here before some good stuff, I would've thought by now you would've had a job. But ya I'll definetly keep on knockin.
you are definitely not alone. same here:).
nice truck BTW, I think it will benefit a lot from ambient occlusion.
For your portfolio, re-organize it so that the C&C mod tank and the past-gen environment are last, cut the mech-warrior mech since it looks like crap compared to everything else. Remove the mouse-over second view and instead show both images on the same page, the mouse-over thing makes it impossible to save one of the images and looks pretty crap, imo.
Put a contact info watermark on each image, and re-name your website from Untitled Document
