looking at it again i have a few suggestions, make the transitions from the feet to skin more apparent, similar to what you did with the nose to face transition, also do this to the tail. might be neat to fake some translucence under the eyes there, making the skin look thin and hinting at some milky eyeballs underneath or some glowing eyes. also some splotches on the skin couldn't hurt, think age spots on old people...
gross & creepy rat you have there DrillerKiller, I want one:poly128:
Is this rat to be animated or will it be a dead rat? Just wondering because arshlevon mentioned sharper transitions in extremitiesto main skin area.
The hairs on the back look a bit too thick and the bump on the tail end looks strange and manmade, not organic. A horizontally segmented tail would look nice in my eyes to give it that final ratty touch.
Looking slick, dude. I personally would have loved to have seen a lot more pink in there to fake a bit of SSS, just to give it a bit more of a creepier feel and to help push the loose skin a little more and giving it that translucent feel.
The head is my favourite bit about the whole piece, especially in the first shot with its mouth wide open.
I'm not too sure what you have planned for the eyes, but I'm not feeling the skin covered thing you have going on. To me it looks like something you've left unfinished (I know you mentioned its not 100%), I think it would look even creepier with really glistening and partially bloodshot eye balls, with a red/yellow iris. Also with some reddish/pink loose eyelids.
And to echo Arsh, a few of those aged spots would really push this guy even further.
Cool stuff!
I like what you are doing for the eyes, but I think a little bit more contrast would be nice on the head.. cause the color of the beast are pretty grey everywhere, with a bit more color around the lips and darker on the eyes, the head would pop more..
Also, from the modeling, the tail seems to have kind of scales on it, it looks different from the body, but the color/ material seem too similar..
just my 2 cts, keep it up!
dude not sure why there was so much confusion, the eye imo read better as a closed blind eye before the red makes it look irritated, if thats what your going for then great stuff. also the bump is insane great stuff can we get some texture flats?
awesome! i just ate and im feeling kind of ill now! guess the model is working great huh?
i agree about the red looking like the eye is irritated. what i miss when looking at it is volume.. looking too flat atm.
I like him. Reads totally well from the get go that he's blind to me.
I'd like to see some spittle in the mouth maybe.
Hairs: I'd say more hairs or ditch em. Maybe adjust the coloration to help blending with the skin? give the hairs spec? normals? add an extra edge to each of your hair cards and give them a little bend or curvature? I dunno, but that element requires attention for sure.

Needs more spec definetly to give the skin a nice wrinkley/ shiney look (if hes a slime wrinkley critter from what im gathering? )
Might be able to clean up a few segments in the head poly wise asside from that looking good!
very nice bump/normal maps

This thin looks like it belongs in some weird test tube, i'm loving it!

very cool, but the eye looks painted on should be some bump there

Great Job.
some spec in his mouth and nose area would help - unless it's supposed to be a dessicated corpse?
badass critter, nonetheless!
Looks a bit desaturated to me ...not just because he's discolored though. I don't really understand what's supposed to be happening with the eyes?
its supposed to be blind but i guess it's not reading that well..
