I posted some WIP renders in the 'What are you working on' thread.

The mesh is about 13,000 polys (triangles); 2 texture maps (2048 for the body/arms/rear, 1024 for the legs); so it's a pretty expensive asset currently. I mapped the legs on a different texture since I can reuse them on other models such as the Gans, Krote, etc. Textures are Diffuse, Specular, Spec Power, and Normal. This is only an exterior model, so if I get around to making the interior the windows will be transparant.

EDIT: Here is some reference for the model: http://www.roboterkampf.com/roboterhtml/htmlmakvis/kang.htm

Thanks for looking. :)

Very nice work man love the general form of it as well as all the detail work. i think u have just the right level of grunge on the leg parts, it looks nice not too much. my only qualms with it is that the body being all one piece seems a bit unrealistic concidering the shape of it and im assuming that it is metal, maybe a seam or two would help that out, looks great as is tho.

Absolutely awesome work! I love the style and atmosphere it breathes. What is this MaschinenKrieger project ?
Only comment I have is that perhaps the tiny bump on the main body is a bit too strong.

Like All the metal parts, but i have a hard time figuring out what the main body is made of, it kinda feels like elephant skin.

    But great work.

    Thanks guys. :)

This vehicle is from the Maschinen Kreiger (Ma.K) universe. It was created by Japanese artist Kow Yokoyama in the 1980s. Here is some reference for the Kangaroo, including some scale model kit pics: http://www.roboterkampf.com/roboterhtml/htmlmakvis/kang.htm

The material I was trying to achieve for the main body is a type of painted cast-metal surface, typical of several WW2 tank turrets. Here is a ref: (http://www.curme.co.uk/seelow16.jpg); I did add some glossiness to the surface, to help the normal details pop. I intentally increased the normal bump detail on this surface, to create a more intense cast texture, and since it's a canon quality based on ref images I found of Kangaroo model kits; but yea it could probably be toned down a bit.

hey man, really nice work, but i think some weld seams would help it quite a bit.
