It looks a bit like a touch screen or something. Anyone knows what that little screen is? Maybe it's just a portable DVD player. But I somehow like to think it's some kind of fancy workstation gadget.
Thanks!

I am thinking more and more of getting myself a little touchscreen. To select photoshop bushes, 3d edit modes (vert - edges - faces...) aso at the touch of the finger.Anyone tried that already? That would rock.
Exactly. I'm equally interested in this: http://www.artlebedev.com/everything/optimus-upravlator/
I've been wanting to try it out in Max or Mudbox, but don't think it's supported. I think it would make a pretty sweet mouse replacement or supplemental navigation.
All this cool tech, E-paper, Microsoft Surface/touch screen, etc, makes me giddy for the future.
I totally think that the traditional mouse will become extinct soon, but I dont think this falcon thing is the future. It reminds me of when "virtual reality" was making tours with these large freaking booths when i was a kid, you had to stand in and wear a visor and all this extra supperflouous gear they had. I stood in line for what seemed like a month, and I mean virtual reality was cool and all, of course, but I dont think the gear they used to showcase, fit the huge idea or theory. Its like they tried to over kill the presentation when the content itself was the main show. And I think this is the case here.
Frankly the falcon itself looks like a total piece of crap trying to be revolutionary future technology. I bet people get all arm cramped and crippled after 20mins use. And I bet anyone who uses it knows this thing is going nowhere.
I could be wrong. Their ideas are going in the right direction, but they are concentrating too hard on the presentation I think, it needs to be simpler than that contraption.
It looks like in order to work properly the thing should be made of high grade platinum and titanium or aircraft aluminum or something. And you would need to take it apart and clean it after use like a semi-automatic weapon.
Its obviously not made of any material close to that in the videos ive seen. It looks like finishing nails and cheap white plastic, like radio shack would make..
ya it reminds me of this;
edit: this actually looks more robust now that I remember it more clearly.
