Hi.
I posted a few wips so far in my other thread but i figured I'd start a new one for this piece. It's as decorative wall inlay that will line the walls of an environment that I'm plugging away at.

*edit - i fixed that gnarly ass lookin hand already,, i'll post new shots later.
this is an old wip, but it better shows the entire structure, minus the footpiece.

I need some feedback on the direction i'm taking with this..
color, saturation, etc.
I knwo i have some paint chipping in areas that dont make sense so i'll fix all that... but what i really need is some advice on how I should maybe render this statue. glossy? marble? onyx?
helps! :P
ADAM
ps no spec yet btw
Is it just me or statue is missing.........boobs:)
Still not sold on the material for the statue... it looks really plasticy. Any suggestions on making it look either stone or metal? In a convincing sculpturesque material?
Still just not happy with the way it's lookin.
OH YEAH
my interwebs was down when i finished the hi-low conversion
housing looks nice but theres some obvious mirroring in the top center white thing.. also some on the corners of the thing she's standing on but thats less noticable
maybe the cyan things could use some drippyness.. and i see a bit of repetition in the grille textures.
you could try and see how the orange/yellow from the housing looks on the statue, tying the elements together a bit.
is this for a bigger project, are you gonna make a small scene around it?
yes, this is for a larger scene. This is actually a wall fixture within a larger room of other objects of this nature. Still working out how detailed to get everything... keeping a good composition in mind for the end product.
Thanks Snader :P
Are you using a single map in spec and gloss? Could try using a blur noise in a mix map along with your painted maps, then you could control falloff more. Edit - they were to pay for, can't remeber where I got mine from but they came in a pack and were free, mostly from blur studios.
