Richard Williams Event in Vancouver

Curious if anyone else is planning on going.

It's an event showcasing his new dvd series based on his awesome book The Animators Survival Kit. Plus there will be a book signing and a screening of who framed roger rabbit.

Amazing book, changed the way I look at the world. I'm actually amazed he's still around I thought he had died... I'd love to meet him and listen to him talk. Hopefully it will be recorded?

You can't call yourself an animator until after you've read his book.

ya i saw this, the cool thing also is its free, so first come first served on seating tho..I wouldnt mind going to this at all, but I dont think that his book is one of the great animation books of all time... From most all classic 2d animation greats I respect, I always get told to reference this book. Told its all you need.

Its 9 bucks, I have it, and learned a lot. I havent read the williams book but hmm its worth walking into the building for free I guess.

of course im not a professional animator, so in that respect, its not all you need, and means my sources could be wrong. lol.

Micro, yeah that book is good.
But animators survival kit isnt called the animators bible for nothing that and the illusion of life are pretty much 90% of the way there for an education.

If I had the money id actually consider paying for a flight there and back just for this, and mebe a long weekend ;P

I hope his dvds come out soon ,there definately on my to buy list. With those an animators education just got a whole lot cheaper, and whole lot better.
