I am having a really hard time trying to find a decent hotel in London(UK), they are either way too expensive, or have really bad ratings from visitors... So, does anybody know a decent hotel for a decent price? Sorry if this post is to irrelevant for this forum :P

Ha ha.
the Harlequin Suite for £6500.00 is ok.
You won't get more for a decent price ..
How about you tell us whereabouts you would like to stay? Since I live here, I obviously don't know too many hotels, but if you want something cheap, err... lower your standards a lot before you go in, heh.

It's pretty cheap. For a place to crash in at night it does the job.
The rooms are pretty small... but I mean you get what you paid for. 2 beds, bathroom, shower room, small tv in the corner, place to put your coat, and garbage to make coffee with.
For me, the nicest thing is that it's across the street from King's Cross station. It's literally a 5 minute walk away.
It's SO convenient. The tube has a straight line to/from Heathrow which is another bonus. You just get on the subway, sit down, and wait for your stop. No need to switch lines.
They have a policy where keys stay within the hotel. So if you're to leave, the keys need to be dropped off at the front desk. I think they do this mostly so they have the keys to your room to do the daily room cleaning. I was a bit suspicious at first... but they didn't steal anything. Hell, they didn't even take the tip we left out on the night stand for them.
There's someone at the front desk 24h to buzz you in through the front door and give your keys. Don't worry, they're there. We came back once really late at night and there was a chick there watching TV/snacking to give us our keys.

they're perfectly okay - much better than the rival Travelodge chain (where you get literally nothing in your room except a small bar of soap), and aren't overpriced shit like Holiday Inn etc. Even though they're more expensive in London than elsewhere, they're still good value for the city. Just don't expect any character, they're cookie-cutter hotels
they do have an overbooking policy though, since they're "sure" they'll get cancellations but want to remain full. Especially on weekends. A friend of mine was stung by this, although they did find him a room elsewhere. Always best to rind ahead to confirm your booking, and try not to arrive too late.
