Hey all,
So for those of you who do not know, there will be a game developers conference called "Dig London" on November 27th - 28th (
http://conf.diglondon.ca/), which seems to be focusing more towards students, or artists / programmers who are looking for a job in the industry (focused around Ontario).
I've never been to a Developers Conference before, and I was wondering if I should bring my portfolio (laptop? hardcopy) I would think they would be looking at portfolios, but I don't know if its proper to just go up and bug them, or... maybe there is a certain time for portfolio meetings? (I have no clue).
If anyone has any tips or suggestions I would love to hear them, this is a chance that I cannot pass up.
Also... if anyone is going please tell, we could meet up. So far I have 3 other buddies going down.
Thanks again all

I would definately bring some hardcopies of your work and maybe prepare cards with your contact info, who knows how much time you will get...
Ask questions like what kind of artists they are looking for. artist who can do tooney games or nextgen realistic looking assets.
try to get one of their emails so you can hara... eh contact them later.
haha kidding, but its a good idea to maybe get a email address, a contact at a company you might be interested in working for is goldsworth (sometimes).
Have you also been around in the 3d total forums before? just something about ur name..
eh nm, good luck!
(ps maybe some more pics of ur work with wireframe would be good)
Also, anyone register for the design competition mentioned? I'm tempted, but I'm wondering what it is first? Like, what the art part of the competition is?
I have a sneaky suspicion it's going to be environment based. Unless we get a choice, it says it shouldn't take any longer then 4 days... so we'll see.
Either way good luck if you enter, the more polycount artists the better.
thereby achieving 2 goals. first, assassins creed 2 might actually be good, and second, you can give her a good seeing to.
the entire week is games themed events in london.
other times of year include; edinburgh has interactive arts festival which is meant to be v. friendly, and i think theres something in brighton but i dont recall the name.
sorry for weird post, im on wii.
600 bucks for 4 full conference passes, and about $160 for 4 people for a 1 night stay at the Hilton, so a total of about $760... not bad I hope.
