i started a new band with Justin_meisse called Battery Dog. its moslty just me buying junk to make a home recording studio and mess around

I hate Lodi is a cover of a creedance clearwater song and it was recorded all me
My undead wife was written and recorded in a couple hours last nite by justin and myself
I'm on guitars and drums and justins bass and vocals, its a really rough mix somehow before export i nudged the first verse 1 beat out of sync with the music. and i need to raise the level on the bass,

damn man digging the voice, can you tell me what kind of effects you use on your voice (pre or post production).

for which song? undead wife is justin singin with a guitar amp plugin for a lil bit of edge and some reverb

lodi is me singin, with the same, pluse an auto tune plugin cranked up to keep me from being 100% off key, it makes a lot of weird warbly sounds

http://batterydog.bandcamp.mu/ page is still bare but i added a new work in progress mix on my undead wife where you can hear the bass and the vocals are not out of time on the first verse like the last one.. still has a good bit of fine tuning to do

like i said in jason lavoies thread here is a list of my gear i use for recording,, i'm really likeing it, but still just barely getting the hang of mixxing




its a roland td6 drumset presonus firestudio project and a 4 channel headphone amp, going into my desktop pc

Ohhhh... now that's what I call a nice setup man How much did the roland kit cost?

Also, does the electronic kit need more then 1 channel (does it act the same as micing a real kit, overheads, snare, kick mic etc.)

I think Gavin just got an electric kit not to long ago as well, I'm slowly getting jealous :P One day!

Cubase is some nice software, I use Acid.

Another lame question (sorry) but electronic kits record in Midi right?

it was about 1200 i think, if you use the head that comes with it it records out mono audio which sucks, but i use it as a midi trigger to run ezdrummer vst inside cubase so it records out as a midi track, alowing simple adjustment of missed beats and such, and allows me to change out a kick or snare simple at any time even after recording.

some kinad weird vocal freq in lodi that gets pretty high pitch,, need to eq it out.

Please please please for the love of god reposition your monitors. You can't get ANY idea of stereo placement with a setup like that, which is a shame cos the rest of your gear is really rather well set up for a project studio.
