I don't get to do any detailed projects for work, so I took some time to practice sculpting, texturing, normal mapping, and some advanced character rigging, well advanced for me that is.

I think maybe the fine details could come through a little better, like a little stronger, tho that may just be the lighting, looks like you dont have any sort of ambient speculars.
Edit: Actually no, that helps push the scale of him, so never mind that.
i found some particularly usefull PS plug-ins from http://www.flamingpear.com/goodies.html
theres one that i'm not sure is listed on the site but comes with the freebies, called viens, that helped get a lot of the micro detail for the plates and such.
ALSO and i'v been meaing to tell quake about this one, but theres a "solidify" tool that does the equvalent to xNormal Dialation, bleading, MUCH quicker, smother, and all the way to the edges if you want
