quick hair question that is drivin' me mad...

i need to make this chickpoo's hair. the hair itself is no probs. however....i REALLY want to get the messy bits that are on the outer shape of her hair. man....there HAS to be a way. i've been experimenting all day. any ideas?????

Not without lots of polys and perfect sorting... just lots and lots of alpha planes, a whole mess of them... I can't think of any real workarounds, shader, content, or otherwise.

good lord....i know....I KNOW. and max is dumb as hell w/alpha in viewport. ARRRGH!!!! *pops open beer. hey, i'm from austin.

i would do a mass mesh to fill the interior and then some of alpha planes at outside, it shouldnt kill too many polycount
