Has anyone come across a script like this? I find myself selecting every other face or edge in an edge loop quite often. Looking for something similar to the pattern selection tools in Modo.
I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for but when you are in Edit poly mode, just select one edge and then just click the "Ring" or "Loop" button in the selection tab.
If you want to do similar with faces, select about every 4th face, then the "Grow" button.
Yeah, were/if Polyboost is an option, it has a "DotLoop" button you can press and it'll work accordingly on objects with an even number of sides (i.e.-18, 20, 22, 24, etc. and not odd numbers).
Yea, I used the Modo 302 trial a ways back and it had a way of recognizing selection patterns. So if you chose, 2 edges on a ring, then skipped 2, then selected 2, it could repeat that all the way around the object for you. Saved a good chunk of selection time.
Guess I'll have to look into making a script on my own. Thanks guys!
