Story
Our scene takes place in the distant future on a spacecraft where a man-made machine coincides with humans. This technological advancement was made to help control the ship more efficiently. In other words, this creation was made to be the brain of the ship. One thing the humans failed to see was what if this mechanical invention turned on its creator? What would happen? Our scene will hopefully unravel what lies beneath that scenario.
Concept
This concept is our first pass of what will be the brain of the ship. We have a pit that lies right under the core. We are thinking about having some mechanical hands that can come out from the hole and be able to clamp itself on people surrounding it.
The center piece that is hanging from the ceiling is considered the core of the system. We have an eye on each side of it totaling up to 4 eyes. Do you guys think it would be better to use one giant eye for the evil factor or do you guys like the multiple eyes?
Any critiques would be helpful! More concepts soon stay tuned!
Replies
We are aiming at a huge room filled with all sorts of machines that will be keeping the eye running. Along with that, we would like to have a lot of destructed objects to give a nice balance to the scene.
For our lighting we are looking at having busted out lights to give some nice contrast throughout the scene. Ultimately our main lighting will be around the eye. We are going to have some lights behind the eye projecting an eerie and illuminating feeling.

Concept
I also got some pillar supports in, I have the concept of it but I have to scan it tomorrow at school.
We also have a few updates with scaling on our composition. The ceiling is going to have some sort of living organ combined with tech. I havent implemented the wires into it yet or changed the colors to mesh with the scene. I also am playing around with the spec so I can give it the wet look. Its looking too much like metal right now but let us know what you think!
Mech hands coming in next!
S'what came to mind *shrugs*
Looking awesome so far~
Can't wait to see moar
Thanks for showing the flats, going to try to implement some of those techniques to make my metal stuff look better. Also, how did you get the lights on the doors and eye to glow so well? My emmisive maps aren't doing the trick. Add lights right up against it or something? I am using UT3 as well. Sorry for all the questions...
Here is a few shots of all of our assets together. Lighting still needs to be tweaked but let us know what you think! Thanks
