Hi To all the people who remember me and to all the newer members.
Back when living in washington state I gave up on 3d. I uninstalled my wacom, Photoshop, and Max. I never fininshed anything and and I never seemed to get any better, so why not?
Now after being back in Indiana for over a year, I'm getting that urge again. I have no clue why but I'm going to give it anopther shot.
As I've been out of the loop for awhile are there some good suggestions on cheap or free sculpting software. (Money is tight now that I'm not at Microsoft)
What are people using for making thier normal maps these days?
Is CrazyBump still viable, and free?
Maybe I'll actually finish something this time around

CrazyBump has been for sale for quite a while.
Yeah, CrazyBump is out of beta. New Mudbox is insane and you can use that for 30 days I think, lots of fun too.
Sounds like an interesting story. I moved away from Seattle once.
I'm way missing that west coast pay scale though.
Anyway I'm back in Bloomington. We got a fixer upper(read: should be condemmed) house and we're fixing it up.
I've been getting back in contact with all my old hoosier friends through this http://www.musicalfamilytree.net/
OK, I gotta get back to work. The Helpdesk tickets are rolling in.
