Hi there. Here's some random stuff that I've been working on in the past couple of months. I figured I'd start a sketchbook here in order to keep me doing more 2D. C&C welcome!
These first few started out as brush tests in Photoshop..
So many sweet environments! and your styles pretty tight too, its like a textured/illustrative hybrid that looks sweet! - im not a fan of the huge amount of brush whoring that goes on but you can wield them tightly!
How long are you spending on these environments? Need to start gearin my shit up so im of use to someone heh!
Jackwhat - I see what you mean about the brush whoring.. that's the point of all these first few images though, I've been trying to loosen up my paintings a bit and get faster as well. I'm still exploring a lot. Those environments in the 2nd post have taken between 1 and 2 days roughly, maybe a little more.. I tend to forget checking the time while doing these. The one below was around 15 hours, that heli was 5-6 hours I'd say.
Here's another one I just finished, along with a progress image thingie
Heh, that brush whoring remark wasn't aimed at you - more so the craigmullins/vyle wannabes that float around covering up their lack of ability with chain and rockbrushes!
But damn dude, thats sweet! i dont think ever spent more than 6hours on a picture I end up doodling for 2hours and calling it quits.
Cheers for uploadin the steps and larger pictures, insightful
hot stuff peppi! the style is well developed especially on the char or asset side icluding ideas too, the enviroments sometimes lack a bit of blending everything together, a bit more definition for forground/midground&background, small crit but they work good too (especially the sketches&doodles). & in general your brushes&colors are awesome
weiter soo!! immer fein zur abwechslung mal bei einen styler mit eigenen ideen im sketchbook herumzubl
WOW PEPSI this is wonderful! best i've seen from you.
small suggestion - put some hard darks in his face to suggest some features and shioe where skin stretches over bone
Hey Peppi. Been a fan since Dom war1 . You're defiantly an ace, be proud
Was wondering if you mind sharing with us your thought processes on creating these paints? What you look for as you're working and how you structure your work flow?
It'd be much appreciated. I'll give candy.
Btw, the womb chick is friggan amazing. Keep it up.
Great overall abilities! The piece I enjoyed most is the twins one. The sign is awesome and very creative, as well as everything else. Very enjoyable to look at. Keep up the good work.
That last one is damn freaky!, the mutant with the road sign.
its mere presense has an emotional effect. *poor being* *wow shit wtf is that!* *what happened to your face mister?* *Woa fuck... you startled me sir!* *uhm mister.. uhm you two.. I guess* *plz don't come any closer dude... s...* I love that:)
Also I really like your small "space" ships, transport crafts, uhm future flying machines? they are exelent:)
Yep, that red/orange is completely rad. I promise I'm gonna try and be a little less obsessed with it in the future
Thanks for all the warm comments guys, it is much appreciated. Sorry this sketchbook has been starting to gather dust lately, I don't have much to post right now and I'm also kinda swamped with work so it'll probably be a few weeks till the next update. I will be trying to make time for the 2D Domwar though!

This one is a CD cover for a couple of friends' band (original aspect is 3:1, cropped so it doesn't mess up the layout).
And a heli.
Hope you enjoy. I'll be trying to update this thread on a regular basis.
lovin' the album cover

seriously, I love this sort of sci-fi, and just looking at some of these (like the squid ships) gives me goosebumps.
Love your brush style especially on the environments.
The following is for the current Character of the week comp over at conceptart.org (topic was siamese twins)
