You need to study anatomy more, the face structure needs work, and the body proportions are odd. It looks like you are not working from reference, and you certainly should be.
The top professionals use photo reference, not to trace from, but to constantly refer to during modeling, to keep their eyes refreshed as to what their goal should be.
You also need to work on the topology of the mesh itself, where you put the edge loops matters a great deal. Some images here that might get you started: http://wiki.polycount.net/Limb_Topology
eric - thx for the link, dude. i've been visiting polycount for a while and hadn't yet stumbled upon the wiki page.... lots of great info in there that i'm sure i will use pretty regularly now that i know it's there... can't believe i hadn't seen it until now.
nikko - i couldn't agree with eric more about the reference. even cartoony characters and even made up creatures are based off real reference. the anatomy on most living creatures is theoretically the same for the most part...
that topology link should help you out alot with the mesh as far as proper deformation goes... the original spaceman you posted had better topology than the new one.
Update: add helmet & jetpack, modify the proportion & face a bit.
space gloves & boots will follow....
not yet modify the poly at the limb for the deformation, want to check 1st that the general shape/ look is correct.

been searching the net but only can find adult male.
thx for the C&C, will fix it soon
