oh god. The last two or three series of that were like chewing poisoned glass. Totally proved the point that once you've run out ideas, a programme should be put to sleep, no questions asked. And lets face it, they completely ran out of ideas around series 4. "Hey, i've got a great one ... what about a *different kind of alien that feeds off emotions?" ... "Er ... okay why not".
And even though it looks like they've only had to come up with an original idea for one story, i'm not holding up any hope. Maybe it'll feature .... hahahaha ... the nerd version of the cat with the ... hahahaha ... anorak and ... haha ... the flask. Oh my sides.

Haha. thats what I was gonna say. It started sliding around when Kochanski came back, and the last few were totally not funny. But I don't think they would ressurect it unless they had some good stuff down on paper.
my friend just got me into this, and I've watched the first two seasons, they're hilarious but after reading this thread I think I'll stop after a season or two more..

Don't stop! If you can't watch a series for both its good and 'bad' episodes (which is purely a matter of opinion), why bother watching it at all?
Indeed. there are still good episodes near the end, like Tikka to ride

. And I did find some of the nanobots episodes amusing. But there are a few stinkers. I'd just watch them all, you'll know if the storyline is any good about 10 minutes in.

IMO, comedy is the only way you can make a good sci fi tv series. LONG OVERDUE!
