Silo: instances don't render to normalmap?

So, I posted this over on the official forum, but people don't generally respond to bug-reports a lot, so I thought I'd check here.
I'm having some problems with rendering a normal-map from geometry which consists of some instanced tiles with cables over them. The cables render to the normal map, with nothing under them but neutral normal-mappy blue. has anyone run into this problem before?
I need to deinstantiate to see them on the normalmap.

So, have any of the silo-users here ran into this one before and is it just standard behaviour right now, or is it a bug (by which I mean: something not everyone gets, I suppose)

That is the first time I've tried to use Silo's normal mapping, but what you described happens here. Originals come through, nothing from instances. Turn them into normal mesh (export to obj and back in this case) and it seems to be okay. xNormal is also fine with them.

Alright, good to know it's just 'the way it is'. I guess that's an oversight by Nevercenter in the rendering code then :D
When you say xNormal's fine with them, do you mean it renders instances inside of sib's? I'm going to give that a go now.

edit: no need to export, by the way. De-instantiating works just as well, and that's something you can just undo.
