FINALS
Chosen concept
Backstory and setting.
September 13, 1937.
It has been nine years since the invasion.
For nine years we have been hunted like animals, caged and beaten. They are silent and treacherous. Even to this day we do not know how they caught us so unawares. So much has changed since then, some even wonder if there was a time before the invasion. Some find it easier to forget.
But I will never forget the day fire fell from the sky, and burnt our cities to the ground. That which they did not raze they took over, like a cancer in a dying beast. It is always raining now, it seems even our gods can do naught but weep. Every day I see our churches and schools turned into war factories and charnel houses. Everywhere I see their flags, red and black, blood and ash. I see those brave enough to resist hanging from lampposts and cages. We cannot sleep because we do not know when they will come, in overcoats and gas masks. I have seen them carrying the dead and the dying in their dark trains. They travel at night, snaking their way through our cities, bringing only death and despair. New statues have replaced the old ones, just as we ourselves are being replaced.
I can hear the hammering of their black boots now.
They are coming for me.

We are also turning the building on the left to a Church among other slight changes to make it our own but still staying true to the concept.
We will post some WIP proxy's this week.
In the future we plan to have a couple of nooses hanging from lamp posts. A couple of cages hanging from a couple of buildings.
The Church could look great, but it's too blocky right now and the scale and style could be a bit more imposing... could be one of the real set pieces of your scene. I hope you don't mind me posting this but I thought it might be a little inspiration for you, I think theres plenty of nice features in there.
Also the Train is blocky and I know you'll come back and sort that out, but I really think you should stick to the design of the concept. The 'nose' looks great in the paintover...dark and menacing. Its the buildings in the background that need more evil.
Good job though keep it up.
Diesel: That's a great crit, mate. We were working off a simplified version of Westminster Abbey. I'm working on the details right now. I think some Gothic arches and external ornamentations would help. As for scale, it's something we're still figuring out. We should have something better uploaded soon.
Critiques are welcome.
Any comments and critics are very welcome.
Beauty 01
and maybe light the train a little more to make it pop out
Good luck on the final two weeks!
Thanks again.
Still to go some corrections on textures and model of church.
We are liking the train too. :poly121:
Still tweaking textures and some ground issues. No AO or post, just renders to test lighting and camera angles. This 2 are the ones we focused from the start.
we are working on that as we speak.
cheers!
this will be our beauty shot.
It would be very appreciated if u can let us know which versions do you prefer.
Thanks
just a quick 2 second color tweak... might be too extreme due to laziness:
It's a wrap. Here is our final entry.
