Unearthly Challenge | Army of Darkness | Jungle Town

We're a team of three:

Really looking forward to this challenge. We chose "jungle town". Still trying to work out a good concept before we dive into modeling. Here's a quick paintover and photo refs of a direction we might be taking it.

(I know the paintover is not evil, I'm working on that)

Looks interesting. I think once you add the military components to the city and some clutter it will look evil very quickly.

Still have a lot of evil to do but here's where we're at. We've been discussing ideas and making quick mockups. This is a mockup that Ray (dood2501) made that shows the direction we want to go:



Our scene will depict the entrance to the evil city. Those that enter the city by water will have to pass through a large gate (the gate isn't built yet, just pretend) that is guarded with watchtowers. The area will have a lot of vegetation and steep rocky mountains.

So this week for us is the planning stage, so there is more to come on this mock up before we start doing the actual modeling.

Here some more! Me and Skeptical Nate did some more brainstorming on the concept and we're going to go with an asian pirate look. Here's a mock up of the water gate (minus the gate) Skeptical Nate made. Everything is still temp.

This gate will be in the background and then we'll have houses in the foreground like in the concept.

Got some ideas from dood2501 and changed the direction of the gate a little. Gives it a bit more character I think. Modeling isn't final, but that's the idea.



The "roof" of the gate hasn't been modeled yet, that's just a placeholder.
