An evolution of the demoman in tf2. love a couple of the early concepts they had, but as pointed out they did not seperate him out fully within the game.
I got the chance to meet Moby and watch him work his magic on some characters back in January. He's the artist that did the majority of those concepts, particularly the ones in the same style that Vig posted. It's quite the thing to see how narrow thin brushes can be manipulated to create the shapes that make up the characters.
He was a super nice guy too. We brought the 4 TF2 posters you can purchase on the Valve store to have him sign them. Then we mounted them and they now hang over my desk at work.
Yeah Vig, that one and this one, http://www.teamfortress.com/images/posts/Dm_concept5a.jpg are my favorites, though I realize why the one I like wouldn't work(looks like the heavy, it would have been neat if they left the little hat and dress(I am aware of what they call it, but I call it a dress)
OH- thats why your picture in the faces to names thread looks familiar. I think you were rocking an old school polycount shirt a bunch, and I schmoozed with you briefly in the space needle.
anyways moby was the SHEEEIT, easily one of the baddest mother fuckers there. hummble guy too-
totally not on topic, but there was a badass concept artist there from threewave that was super dope- He wasnt presenting but just attending. He did this bad ass red armored space marine guy while he was there that looked a bit like josh nizzis work. Ring a bell? I`m pretty sure he was on turok.
