Hey hey!
This is the gun I'm currently working on, mainly looking for critique on the texture.
It´s still a WIP so feel free to come with ideas. I haven't even started on some areas yet, as you can probably tell (the barrels for example). No dirt and grime in the contact areas yet either.
atm the Diffuse is plugged into the specular channel aswell so if the specular looks weird, thats why
Heres the flat texture.

my crits from a quick glance are:
- burning speculars! so much white stuff
- the barrels seem rather unimpressive compared to everything else. everything else seems really worn except for the barrels. not sure how barrels get worn but I assume they don't look all shiny new at least.
otherwise I think it looks good.. I'm not a gun maniac though and they usually have a lot of things to say about guns

In that case it actually looks pretty spot on. Finish up thios textures, especially the barrel.
I honestly like the skin of the gun in the concept more; it's cleaner and easier to read and I think it would compliment the 3D model better.
Heres an ingame shot from GoW just for fun
do you mean contrast or saturation? I would say theres already alot of light and shadow and dirt information but its not easily visible because of the desaturated dark colours, that said it does fit into the gears universe quite well
That being said, Ive noticed it depends VERY much on your screen, it looks fine and you can read most details on my screen here at home. while on some other its almost pitch black >.<
This man speaks the truth, it seems to suffer from a bad case of "it looks cool in photoshop" but an utter mess on the model.
and heres a straight viewport grab of the latest texture, no specular at all. I can see what you mean in some areas. But its not that bad? or am I blind? Not trying to be stubborn. just want to improve
My main gripe with it is that you can't tell it's a minigun sort of thing as the barrels aren't visible AT ALL from the 1st person view where it'll be seen most of the time I imagine?
That's most likely not your fault if you've modeled it true to the concept. It is a shame though.
Increase the gamme on the whole piece slightly, increase the saturation, and tweak the intensity levels in some areas more than others and I bet it will visually "pop" more than it does now.
Also, I'm thinking of going with a different colour, figured I'd let you vote on what you like :P
And it might be good to add more of that red you have at the bottom on some of the other areas.
I did a little paintover:
Keep on this one, its definitely got the oomph look it needs geo wise.
A) wheres does it feed the ammo/ magazine??
how exactly do you hold it?
Looks great though man, but I say you can still push it with those painted markings.
This time with added clip!
