Yeah, I was wondering, does anyone know what causes this?
If I import a model, or make one out of zspheres and go to sculpt, my model just goes all wonkey and starts to flatten out. I'm using just a standard brush, zadd is active... Sorry if this is a stupid question or a silly oversight of mine, but I can't add any volume or mass to my form because it just wants to flatten out and act strange.... Thanks!

If not, try going into the Brush menu at the top, and toggling BackFaceMask on. It'll keep the brush from affecting backfacing polys, which can also do things like that.
