So I went from a dual screen to a single screen setup while Im out of town. There are some things like the layer manager and graph editor that are off screen now in 3dsmax because of this. Is there anyway to get to them without reinstalling?
Yeah, take a look at the 3dsmax.ini file, I think the positions of those windows are stored in there.
You should be able to modify/delete them and it will revert to default. Not sure if there's a friendlier way to do this, I've never looked beyond that.
1. Activate the missing window.
2. Press Alt Space.
3. Press down arrow once.
4. Press enter once.
5. Press any arrow key once.
6. Move the mouse to bring the window back onto your screen.

AMAZING. I never got that move function to work. You are the best.
It's amazing how many times people at the office have asked about this. Just to add in this works with any windowed object, including (obviously) sub windows of Max.
I've seen this crop up all the time when you have teammates using different monitors as their primary, like Max's main window on the right instead of left. The window positions are saved with the Max file.
