Does anyone know a website that can teach me how to build a computer. I was thinking about building my next computer instead of buying one. It seems like the best thing to do right now because of how much money I can save. Thanks for the help!
How much you save depends a lot on where you go dude. I know of a few places around my locale with very reasonable part prices who will also put a whole system together for you for $50. Thought I'd mention that if saving money was your only motivation in learning to build a PC, you might be better off just looking around for a good hardware outlet if that's the case.
That aside, I think having a decent understanding of how a PC is assembled is a good chunk of knowledge to have these days. Most of what I know about PCs was learned from friends and personal experience, so that's not much good to you.
I got some decent results in google by searching 'build pc tutorial'. This guide was one of them and seems pretty comprehensive to me at a glance:
I know its a simple question, but I figured there were some people here that knew some good places to look.
Thats what I used to build mine, plus careful reading of the manuals that come with each part (or can be found on the manufacturer's website if you buy OEM parts). Another handy suggestion is to have another working machine to check the internet in case problems arise.
Just what I was looking for, thanks WhiteEagle. Cody... you're a dumbass.
I think google is always a smart choice to find things online, but maybe I am dumb. Chill out dude. I actually went searching for a guide for you, and almost all the ones of the first page of the search were good, so I posted the link. When I built my first one, I just bought all the parts I needed from Newegg, made sure all the specs matched, and had no idea what I was doing. But all the parts came with instructions, so it actually was quite easy. Hacking windows was the hard part. I'm on my 3rd build now, and I love buying EXACTLY what I want and not paying for crap desktops from Best Buy, or god forbid, Dell. I say go for it, make sure you have all the parts you need, a screwdriver, and something metal to ground yourself. [Static is not your friend.] The instructions should take care of you just fine, and if you have anymore questions, post in technical talk, and I, among others will help, or look here - > http://www.google.com/search?q=build...ient=firefox-a
I apologize for getting mad at you, I over reacted about what you said, when I should have taken it with a grain of salt. Thanks for being the better man and still helping me out.
