... but wow! I can't believe how hard it is to get tickets to Blizzcon. My wife, mom, and I play WoW together and thought it would be fun to go to Blizzcon this year (mostly, to get the exclusive grab bag mount). We went ahead and booked the plane tickets and rooms but we might not even be able to get tickets to the event! The website has been slammed for the past two days and they have had all kinds of issues with it. My wife is ready to pull her hair out. She's been refreshing every 5 minutes or so and retrying to get through. Heh she said it's been telling her it's sold out a few times but then its not with other attempts.

We have had a hell of a time getting through the website, but eventually lucked out and snuck a few tickets in after hours of spamming refresh page off and on.

I didn't think it would be this popular, and with over 10,000 tickets I couldn't imagine there would be that many people willing to make the trip, but I guess i was proven wrong.

Yah, I couldn't get tickets either. I already paid for a room next to the convention hall already as i figured the rooms would be just as hard to get.

well look at it this way,

you goto blizzcon, you get a swag bag, you sell it on ebay for 500+ because it includes a mount in WoW that everyone wants.

I gave up trying to get to the page, and its sold out now anyways.

Thats what happens when you have 10k tickets and 10mil players, not to mention you give out goodie bags that are worth 5x the ticket price on ebay.

The amount of interest is undeniable, but the goodie bag mount is not a factor... well it probably is but folks are gonna be disappointed.

When you signed up for the tix, you had to give a character's name and infos. That's the exact same info you have to provide when redeeming other special items, such as mounts from the TCG. I expect that rather than give out a card with a code on it, the players will get an in game email with their mount enclosed. This, like the requirement to pick up tickets up in person at the convention center, is meant to squash the ebay market for such things.

Now there are some things people can and will sell, like the inflatable sword...... yah. You have a beeeelast selling that on ebay.


As for Warhammer Online... get me into a beta and I'll be playing it tonight. Or I'll wait outside like the rest patiently. But no taunting allowed from the pixel pushers. :P

I know it sucks to not get into Blizzcon, but BoBo, I've never seen someone so sad to go to Disneyland! I mean, come on..it's the happiest place on earth.

I went to the first blizzcon when i was in college. It was a ton of fun! Best part was I got to play starcraft ghost....Then blizz swept it under the rug and claimed they never heard of it haha. I came away with a little murky pet for my wow character. Too bad it didnt transfer characters. I stoped playing that toon long ago, I only held onto him b/c he had a murky!
