Fantastic opportunity for exceptionally talented 3d animators to join one of the UKs leading independent games developers. The studios last title - was released to mass critical acclaim - and was proudly developed as one of the launch titles for the PS3. The studio is run by some of the most innovative and creative minds in this industry - they are committed to developing AAA next gen titles - that really are a true blend of cinema and gaming.

They are looking to recruit experienced Animators (to senior level) to work on their top secret next gen title. If you want to join a studio whose artwork is of an unrivalled level - this is the studio for you.

Responsibilities
The successful applicants will proactively take part in the artistic creation process of animation content - taking agreed action outcomes and ensuring animation content fulfils vision, quality expectations and time restraints.

Working in 3D primarily with Maya and predominately hand-keyed – and to the highest quality. (As Senior Animator you will be using your expertise in the initial planning stages and supporting the Lead Animator in guiding overall direction – as well as acting as a mentor to more junior members of the team and taking part in the overall vision of the studio.)

Requirements
To apply you’ll need to demonstrate:

Good (advanced level if a Senior) knowledge of relevant 3D art & animation packages – in particular Maya, but also 3D Studio, XSI
The ability to adapt to various animation styles with emphasis on realistic, human driven animation
An understanding of real world animation production – likely to be gained from at least two (four for a senior) years relevant experience
Creative thinking
Good communication skills – both with other animators as well as other disciplines, & strong English skills
A demonstrable passion for animation


In addition to the above for a senior role we would also be looking for:

Demonstrable understanding of how 3D packages work – liaising with other 3rd party applications for example unreal or morpheme would be advantageous.
Demonstrable understanding of the requirements of cinematic sequences – camera positions, what looks good in shots etc

Plus for either level if you have the following it would be advantageous (though not essential):

Technical background e.g. basic/good scripting/coding abilities
Experience / knowledge of skinning & rigging

Lastly - For all animation roles you’ll need to send in a show reel (or link to a webpage) which demonstrates your work. We’re always looking for quality over quantity and the more relevant your work the better i.e. realistic human character-based action animation. The animation here is predominately hand-keyed so we’ll also be looking for evidence of this on your show reel – at least 50%. For the more senior role it would be good to demonstrate any cinematic knowledge you have as well.
