I think I pressed a hotkey while messing around and now whenever I put an Unwrap UVW modifer on anything and select faces, it's triangulating my faces.. how do I turn this off?
That just looks like the "Quick Map" gizmo displaying there. I don't think it's actually triangulating your mesh, it's just displaying the triangle edges while you're in Quick Map mode.
If you deselect the faces, do they still appear to be triangulated?
You're correct, it's not actually triangulating my mesh but it's displaying the triangle edges. okay.. I messed around a bit more and I have found that if I create a primitive and then add the Unwrap UVW without converting it into an editable poly, it will show the traingulated edges like in my screenshot. But if I convert that primitive to an editable poly and then add the Unwrap UVW, it won't show the triangulate edges. So I guess I solved my problem
