Cleaning up these forums

Hey guys im not one to complain too much but recently for me these forums have gotten filled with stupid mindless post's like the one im writing now :S
I know this post makes me somewhat a crybaby but i just had to say theres been alot of stupid idiotic posts that i think clutter up posts that deserve more attention case in point general discussion forum heres a few examples of stupid post on the first page:

i know this is general discussion but i think there should be an off-topic area or even a sticky for these kind of mindless stupid posts.
Its not just General discussion being overrun by needless posts. but also P&P which gets its fair share of needless posts:

I know the admins/Mods are doing there fair share of work trying to clean up these forums and its gotten alot better from its early days
My only suggestion is we should just make a sticky for people to throw there random crazy thoughts into. this post would fit perfectly in an off-topic sticky or forum and so would all those other crazy threads.
thats all i wanted to say, To note most of those threads were locked which is a good thing but it doesn't stop people from making other stupid threads.
Anyways thats all and im just expressing my opinion and didn't mean to offend or piss of anyone. and i hope i didn't.

conversely, can i make my own appeal to re-inject some charm back into the boards with less comment-less locking of threads and more encouragment of escapist nonsense. The idea of a gratingly worthy, grimly sincere general discussion makes me want to puke out of my eyes
Sure if we start to become overrun with idiot posts, which we aren't, we might want to start locking threads and issuing warnings. Oh wait they do that already...

I've observed a pattern. I noticed that in 5 out of 7 of the threads you linked, pliang was one of the earliest to reply. In fact, 4 out of 7 he was either the 1st or 2nd to reply. In fact, in one thread in which he was first to reply...he also linked to another thread, also on your list, in which he was first to reply.
Perhaps it's because school is out, as it seems to often begin as school lets out, or any other reasons...but many of us here on PC have too much time on our hands, and not enough good content to show in P&P.
I've been typing stupid shit for the last... *murmers* sorry, it's just what I feel like doing. Try and relax guy.
Frankly sometimes General Discussion is the only place where you'd find humor as well as a circle of people who blast at each other, foaming at the mouth like they got a mouth full of ****.
Brining some art back to P&P is not a bad idea though (I'm guilty of it)...

Bitmap I thought Spain wasn't able to get their hands on Portugal because of the mountains that separate the two countries. My Spanish History is more than rusty, I always feel asleep when I had to study it in Spanish. LOL
New forums get debated over a lot. We have what we need. People alwasy bring up a random forum idea but it's not needed. An occasional explosion of angst/debate/craziness happens. It's post-E3 so there are people who have been crunching for a while and blow off some steam or just act goofy from stress. Randomness happens..

QFT. Lately some potentially awesome (retarded) GD threads have been locked down in their prime by Mods with itchy trigger fingers. Like Tulk says, unless it's offensive (in an unhealthy way) please let internet forum nature run its course.

Call it preventative measures.. Those who have been around for 4+ years know where these kinds of threads lead. Some people come and have their fun with the trolls but usually it ends up with bruised feelings all around.
The mods know what they are doing.
Tulkamir & everyone - theres been a lot of threads closed because some threads are out right stupid. Even I will make a pointless thread from time-to-time, but when the context of the thread itself is completely retarded it has to go. No questions. I've been around the Polycount block a number of times to know its going to go nowhere and I think we all have.
I don't mind the odd shit droplet sprinkled here and there inside GD but when half the GD forum is a steaming pile of pointless shit some moderation is going to happen. We are NOT going to let the shit overtake the gold.
Be proactive, this is your forum as much as it is mine. If you're seeing some things happening that you're questioning tell us privately so you can avoid the masses filling your post up with the replies like the ones above this one.

This animation needs some work, there's no anticipation in the movement, the timing is off with the character on the left. The center of gravity looks good on both the characters have strong poses. keep it up!
To me the problem is that not everyone considers the same stuff shit. Maybe to you some "retarded shit" is totally useless, maybe to someone else it's a bit of much needed laughter. If it isn't, the thread will die and you won't see it anymore. If people continually post in a thread though, I see no reason it should be closed unless it's offensive. It's not like someone is forcing your mouse to click on it. Obviously there are some exceptions, like people spamming shit.
Anyways, I'll stop there and probably won't post on this any more. I know you've been working your ass off to improve polycount Adam, as have several others around here, so I'll leave it in your capable hands. This is just my two cents.
