Hi all, first time posting a project here, also first time making a character with more then 1000 polies..

I think I'm nearly done with the lowpoly (but I'm sure you guys have some eyeopeners) and I'm still deciding whether to make a highpoly and normal for this seeing as those are new to me too. The model is supposed to look like me, but a bit more sporty.

Nice model so far,i do have some crits though.
-The hands and forearm look a bit to small.
-His fingers look a bit wrong shaped.
-It could be me,but your shoulders seem to wide compared to your lats muscles.
-Something about the neck and back of the head looks wrong.

    Keep working on it.

BTW: Not trying to spam your thread, but the front view of your models head reminds me alot of the belgian cycler "Tom Boonen" :p.Here's a pic of him

    Looking good.

I think your face is a bit wider than what you modeled.
The eyes seem to have a bit more space between them and the nose looks a bit thin.

The only other thing that strikes me as odd are the arms.

I think if you decide to do a hi poly for normal map then jack up the polys on your low poly....1000 tris seems a lil low....u could def go as high as around 10 000 if u wanna do a next gen type character

Aside from the arms as someone has already mentioned, what jumps out at me most is your lack of lats. In the model I mean, lol. I believe bodybuilders call them "wings". The head is also way too square. The your hair in the reference picture gives that illusion, but I think if you were to shave your head like the model, you might find your head is actually quite round.

There's also some nice mass and width going on in the front view of the model. Side view however, is looking kind of scrawny. Perhaps even it out a little?

The clothes, push/pull a few verts here and there to give the illusion of wrinkles in the pants, particularly behind the knees, at the cuffs and along the bottom of the shirt. And then really define those wrinkles in the normal and texture maps.
