Hey, I never really do any enviro art so im gonna join in for a bit with ya'll.

I would greatly appreciate your guidance.

I have no plan right now. Im gonna make some modular pieces, and see what I can do with them when the deadline comes up. Cheers.


Heres a door. Its on a 1024 and not mirrored atm, but I might mirror it to give me some more space, and maybe resize it smaller later if I have to. Its got normal, diffuse and spec.

It all looks a lot like metal because of the spec, I'd introduce some more contrast to it to break up the spec, and darken it considerably. Also, are you using colour? it might be nice of the door had more of a yellow/red sheen to it, to really sell it as being dark wood.

thanks for the advice. I updated the image above and added a window Im working on. Damned if I know how to do glass with nothing behind it and without just using the diffuse to paint my happy streak highlights. Stupid next-gen...

aesir if you want you can add the streaks in the spec map. sometimes it looks good sometimes it doesn't.
